Well...we, well I, finally decided what I was going to do with it. My inspiration came first and foremost from all of your comments here and here.
My visual inspiration came from this Candice Olson design (Attic Makeover):
Candice Olsen Attic Turned Living Room Makeover
and these:
And here is what Candice Olsen + Pumpkins equals:
Ugly Cords...
Bye bye!
Side view:
I love how the sun shines through them and I can still enjoy the iron silhouette, without actually having to see them it from the Living Room:
I love these curtains, they are shimmery, so pumpkiny, so cheap! $16.99 for TWO panels at Marshall's! I needed 4 panels, so 2 packages.
I got the rod at Jo-Ann's, on clearance for $8.97! This is the BIG rod, the one that goes up to 120", so this was a great deal! I would have loved to have done the entire wall, but then I would have needed to special order a rod for that...but we might figure something out, I have extra panels, just in case...
I got this Halloween garland at Marshall's, too. My little guy made me (really he did! lol) hang this up! It is too early for Halloween stuff though, I'm bad! This sweet tin, has my Family name on it, I got it at etsy.com, I spray painted my name off, I love that stuff, even on digital pics!:
Doesn't my Fleur de Lis ceiling tin tile from Susie Harris look so much happier now? I think so. And now I can actually open my front door to guests and not be embarrassed! The curtains really make the iron wall pop, too, I just love how it all turned out!
Now I feel like singing, "Be-ba, ba-bomp-do-da-da, be-bomp, ba-bomp-da-dant-da-dah!" ;)
Don't you just love Candice Olsen???
I do!
Hey, did you enter my Amazon.com gift card giveaway yet? I posted it yesterday, make sure that you do, and good luck!!!

That looks so great! Candice would be so proud. And for real, she's the most talented decorator on TV if not in North America. I love love LOVE her show. So nice job on channeling the master.
What a great idea! This turned out beautifully. As for me, I love the iron wall. But I understand your need to cover up your cording issues.
Lovely!

it really looks good, Bella! I love those curtains, they look very luxurious. It's a little scary, though - I really did hear the music in my head as I read all your "be-bop"s. Hmmm...perhaps we watach a little too much HGTV? (But of course, there is no such thing as too much HGTV!!) anyway, great job!
WOW! that looks awesome. and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Candice Olsen- my husband and I always said if we ever had tons of money we would hire her to come re-do our home. She is amazing. Love the pumpkin colored curtains-dont ya just love Marshalls!
Thanks for stopping by my site- Love the way iron turned out.
You have a great blog.
what a great idea and it turned out great! I'm over here singing the Candice Olsen song with you. :)
My Birch tables I actually have 6 total all in different sizes. Oh, what a lucky find. During the end of the season Bath and Body Works sells of store display I happened to over hear that while shopping and asked about them. They only wanted 5 dollars a piece for them....Score. I was so delighted I bought them all. I just love them. And what a lucky day that was...hugs, lisa
I love it, Bella!! I love how the curtains look, and I LOVE how much (or how little) you spent on them! It looks fantastic!
It's a great look!
If you want to extend it the entire length of the wall, you might try using copper or galvanized piping for the rod and then attach your current rod finials on the ends. Just an idea.
Thanks for visiting my blog and your sweet comment. I love the curtain idea. Great way to hide all those cords too!
Catherine
Morning Bella!!! That turned out beautiful! I love the way it makes the ironwork stand out like an art feature....and the great thing is now that you found the solution you could change the color of the panels anytime to match whatever color scheme you wanted to do! It looks great girl...I love the new name of the blog, that is so pretty...hope all is well on your side of the mountain & that you are having a great week!
Morning, Bella! Oh, this looks wonderful. You're the most creative one and Candace would be so proud of you! Who would have thought to do this but you!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
What a great idea! Don't ya just love it when an idea and a solution become one and turn out great :o)
What a great solution! That curtain is such a pretty color. Gotta love Marshalls! And I do love Candace Olson too. She's my favorite designer on HGTV!
It turned out great!! (I had to go read your previous posts to see what the before was...) I love what you did with both sides!
Hi Bella, thanks for stopping by it's nice to meet you too!
It looks really great and I must get to Jo-Ann's. I need a long curtain rod for my french doors. That was a great deal you got!
Manuela
Hi Bella!
Wow! Your wall looks fabulous!! It is wonderful how you were able to cover it all with pretty curtains and I love the color!! Love it!!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
I like how you can see the iron work through the curtain--what a neat effect!
~ Sarah
Oh, yay!! Nice quick inexpensive fix. I really never hated the iron work, I have to admit...and I really like the side that has the curtain peeking out behind it.
You did good girl! Those curtain panels are so pretty! I wish I had a Marshall's where I live. We do have T.J. Maxx and Ross which is kinda similar. I also love that fleur de lis plaque. Great job!
Cool! Love Candice Olsen and your inspiration! Good job!
Oh Bella, how lovely this turned out! And you get to keep the beauty of the iron work wall without dealing with the uglies from all the cords, brilliant! Those panels are gorgeous, so warm, I love me some warm colors as you know *smiles* You did a beautiful job, you should be very proud of yourself and your new foyer and living room. I can't wait to see your kitchen/dining area when you're done with it. You've been on a whirlwind around your home! Well done you!!!
You are so good! Great job! I know what you mean about the Halloween goodies...our 11 year old wants me to put out that decor too...after all Target has the Halloween treats out...why not us...but we will delay that for a bit and appreciate the lull~before~the~storm.
I love when you stop by my blog...we are BFFs already...just think of the trouble we could get ourselves into if we went to Marshall's together? One can only imagine!!!
Smiles ~ Ramona
