What Would You Do With These?

This is a green bucket sort of thing I picked up at a garage sale for $1, I was thinking of painting it black...but then what?

This is a garden art sort of thing. Another garage sale find years ago. It opens up, so I can put things inside of it. I just painted it black:

Here they are together, because I was really thinking I could use them together...until I actually put them together, lol. Unless I somehow made a topiary sort of thing with them...but how? I am so craft-challenged! lol:

My son's friend's mom really liked the Monogram B Art that I gave her today, hooray! I have a feeling I know what his teachers are getting for Christmas this year ;)

Bella

I love both of those items. I actually like the container the green that it is. I think it could use something floral, but it needs to be something that hangs over the sides--like tulips. I would also tie a cute polka dot ribbon around it for some oomph! As for the "cage" thingy :) I think it would look great up on a shelf with some moss stuffed in it. You could even add a little bird in a nest. It's really cute, but tricky to decorate, eh? Again...let us know what you do!

So cool....if you paint it black you could use it allllll through the harvest~y season that is just around the corner. I would stuff newspaper down inside it as a filler and then have dried corn coming out of the top with mini pumpkins stuck in to anchor the whole situation. You could also use "chalk board paint" on it and then you could write and decorate it with chalk.

I would stuff the wire ball with something...I do like that nest idea...that is a good idea.

Thank you for your sweet comments.

I love Chris's idea about moss in the round decorative ball, and a sweet little nest. Precious! I have a large metal container I purchased at a thrift store for $3.00 ... I keep looking at it and wondering if I should paint it black ... I kind of like the metal look ... a fall ribbon or sorts tied in a big bow ... browns ... hmmm

I don'r think I'd use those two things together, unless it were strictly as a topiary and even then I don't know how I'd keep that ball from falling, LOL!

I would paint the bucket with a color you could live with daily (the color as-is I love but that's me ;)), then drill a hole near the top of the bucket so it could be hung on the wall. Then fill it with different arrangements depending on the season. I have an old sap bucket hanging by my front door and it is filed with flowers, baby pineapples, ivy, seashells on sticks, vintage hearts & valentines I glued to chopsticks, vintage christmas ornaments & candy canes, etc.. depending on the season/holiday. I love it!
Keep us posted on what you do!

I wouldn't paint the bucket, sweet bella chick. I LOVE that color, but you could put tall flowers in it. The sphere you could put some greenery in it, weaving it through, and hang it from the ceiling. That's what I'd do but you can come up with a lot of other things by just perusing magazines, sweetpea!!

Hi Bella :)

I agree with the majority and think you should leave it green and I also think moss would look cute in the ball thingy.

Your letter project turned out great!

I didn't read through all of the comments, so forgive me if I am repeating someone else's idea! :) I think if would be cute painted black and glue a slightly larger than the rim, decorative pumpkin to it! Then tie a cute ribbon at the base of pumpkin. It is great container and full of lots of possibilities!

I love your monogram project below! What a cute idea and great Christmas gift option! I'll have to go check that blog out now!

Hugs, Rhonda :)

Thanks for the comment on my blog! There are so many good suggestions for your things! I definity like the idea of drilling a hole and hanging it near your front door and changing out the flowers for seasons!

Thanks for all your ideas on my bloggy page. I'll look into them, I haven't checked my email yet.

For your bucket, go get sticks in your yard, your neighbors yard or a park. I would paint the sticks red, white or black. Depends on where you want to put the bucket. Arrange them in the bucket, tie a ribbon, you have something pretty and cheap.

For the sphere thingy, it reminds me of pumpkins I saw today at HL. For fall, I would put some fall leaves, maybe a candle. Or leaves with pumpkins from the dollar store. Have you seen those yet? CUTE! Anyway, those are my ideas.

Hi Bella,

I love the green color..but it would also look great black or aqua. I would trim it with a wide ribbon and center it in a grapevine wreath. Fill the bucket with seasonal stuff..punkins, leaves, cattails...and hang it on a door or wall. Embellish the wreath as looks right. For the circle thingamig..I would paint it white and glue a vintage tea saucer on the bottom. Add a candle or bird's nest or even photo frame. Use ribbon to hang it up or prop it on top of a pot for a table centerpiece. Just my two cents..can't wait to see what ya come up with!

p.s. gosh do i love your blog backgrounds...aqua is sooo yummy!

I love containers! I don't know what my facination with them is but I can't pass them up. If it were mine I probably would paint it black or cream. Only because those colors are so versitle. I also agree that you could use the round object with it by adding the moss so that it is flush with the top of the container and then add the round thingy. And if you can find something small to add to the inside that would be great. Here are some suggestions: an atichoke, a little bird statue, dark green pear, or any thing gardenesque. Hope that helps.

I'm just visiting for the first time. Your blog is lovely. Looks like we have similar tastes. My daughter's room is the same color scheme as your master bedroom. Check it out when you have time. I LOVE the pictures of phones. Are any of them yours? I have one, that's all. Nice job!

Man, your already on teacher gifts? I loath you!! hehe

I love both of your "objects" hehe. I have a little potter similar to that one in my home, its a little more sage in color. I have some faux florals and feathers in it, I totally love it!

Now the ball may be a little more tricky...let me give that one some thought and get back to you. :)

Hi Bella, I wouldn't paint the bucket either. I think it's great for fresh flowers. The ball thing will be beautiful just sitting on the table.

Bella! you have *me* wanting to move to Italy. The fishing town of Chianalea di Scilla was lovely, I could see myself living in an apartment their with an ocean view.

I really enjoyed your open house, and the salt and pepper shaker is great whether it gives salt and pepper or not.

Loved the Monogramed Art and I must go for my telephone exchange.

I've been out and wasn't able to get around and visit but I see you had a lot of interesting post and I enjoyed each and everyone of them. Deb

I'm sorry, I'm too distracted with this beautiful, amazing blog to come up with anything creative.

Oh...I like the idea of trimming with ribbon. What a great find! :)

I do like the green color of the bucket thingy. But I just know that I wouldn't be able to resist painting it...probably black. And filling it with tall dried grasses and sticks for fall.

The ball is really neat too. I think it would be interesting sitting on a shelf maybe on top of a stack of books.
