I Need Gift Ideas (House Warming & Toddler Girl)

I am going to a one year old girl's birthday party and I really want to get her something creative, cute, unique...any ideas???

Also, this will be our first visit to her parents' new house, so I would like to get them a nice housewarming gift, too...something they will use and not re-gift, lol. About the couple: They are both about 30ish, have one baby girl, both work outside of the home, they love to entertain.

I can't wait to hear what you creative people come up with...I'm hanging on the edge of my seat, actually!!!

THANKS!

Bella :)

For the little one a couple of cute bracelets are always a hit. I would have to know the people to offer ideas on house warming. Food baskets are always a good idea. Maybe even gift certificate to a local store that you love.

I just found these on etsy.com, they are called "I Spy" toys, what do you think?

Hi Bella,

I'm a huge fan of gift cards. That way they pick out what they want. For the little girl, I always give dolls or cute clothes. I haven't had a little girl in so long...that's what I would buy.

Hmmm... for a house warming gift for people that love to entertain, how about a nice espresso pot? Everyone already has a coffee maker, but not all of us have an espresso pot.
No clue about a gft for a one year old though, sorry!

Hi Bella, I wanted to come by and see your cute blog! My one year old loves big washable markers and paper. She's also really into putting things in stuff and taking them out. Anything like that there's a fisher price piggy bank she could sit for hours with! Jen R

I have an idea, go to Target or Walmart and buy some scrapbook paper, but don't use it for scrapbooks. Use it to craft some fun housewarming gifts.;-)
Food or flowers are always easy. How about a cute welcome mat. Or a plant for outside.
Does this help at all? Good luck to you. Have a great weekend.

You can name a star after the little one! Thats alway unique and I'm sure she's getting plenty of toys already! My daughter got too much for her first birthday...I wish she had gotten more unique gifts!

This week I posted this little crafty project on my blog -- glue a vintage dish to a candle stick to make a footed dessert dish, then bake/buy cookies to place on the dish (wrap in cellophane and voila!).

It’s fun to get babies something personalized with their name (like a tee-or sweatshirt, or a wood puzzle). For one year-olds, I’ve bought hoodie zip up sweatshirts from Target and gotten the name embroidered in script on the front…the last one I got was a hot pink sweatshirt with black cursive embroidery. The sort-of “grown-up” script and colors made it pretty hysterical! Etsy has tons of vendors who sell personalized/monogrammed kids clothing.

Good luck!!

I may be a little too late for this, but I was going to recommend Etsy. They have the neatest things, and they're so original. I bought my nephew a personalized crayon roll. My sister-in-law flipped over it because she could take it with her everywhere, and he always had some crayons to play with (in a cute holder, of course)! If the parents like to entertain, what about some beaded serving spoons or bottle opener. They could probably be found on Etsy, too. Good luck! Let us know what you end up doing!

Thanks everyone...I think I am all set, but feel free to leave any suggestions, I may still use them or use them at another time/function :)

I ordered something from etsy.com for the parents and the baby...and the rest of the things I am giving them...I MADE! Which is quite the accomplishment, since I just started crafting...like last week, lol.

I also got the baby a couple of pop-up books and a pair of Dora socks because I just couldn't resist :)

I hope they like everything...they are hard to buy/shop for because they have everything they need and the wife decorates, too, so I hope I did good on my color choices...my dh loves everything I made, he is pretty impressed...so we'll see...I will post pics of everything I made...after the party, just in case they are reading my blog :)

Thanks again!
Bella
