What To Do, What To Do? Part I

I am in the midst of re-doing just about every nook and cranny in my home...so this will probably be a first in a series of "What should I do???" posts ;)

This is a picture of my upstairs hallway. This is the only wall space there. I bought this fancy schmancy hamper from HomeDecorators.com and then I accessorized it with a picture and some greenery. I think it looks fine, but this can be seen from downstairs and is sort of a focal point...and I just wish it had more pizazz, or just 'something' but what???

I promise to listen, just don't be mean like some of those Rate My Spacers over at HGTV, haha..but seriously, I will listen!!! Thank you!

Oh, the walls are taupe-ish, the carpet is chocolate brown, the trim is white. THANKS!!!

Hey thanks for visiting my blog! I'm so jealous, I would love to redecorate! I shouldn't say "re" because we've never really decorated, haha. Someday out of starving student land, I demand a decorating budget! :) Enjoy it!

Bella, I think it looks great as is! But if you want to "juice it up a notch!"...since it is a focal point, you might could do two pictures hung horizonally, or one long oblong pretty mirror, with a darker frame ...long enough that your arrangement overlaps a little. ...just a thought! I love the hutch and flower arrangement. I honestly would probably leave it as is! Did you make the flower arrangement or purchase it that way? I really like it! :)

It just hit me, LOL!...I have the same color walls in my living area, and the same problem with things "blending in too well!" I bet if you could darken the frame, with rub n' buff, or something similar, it would give it that pizzaz to stand out and not just blend in. It is a beautiful vignette, but if you want it to pop, it may need the frame to be darker. Hope this helps. If you hadn't have asked for input, I would have said it looked great, and it does! :) ~Rhonda

Hey thanks for visiting my blog and giving a little paint advice. I need all I can get. :)

Your upstairs hallway looks great I love the color you have on your walls. Maybe you should add a couple smallish pictures next to your greenery OR put a crown shelf on the wall instead of the picture you have hanging and lean some frames full of great photos on it. I have 2 of those in my house and I ♥ them.

You asked what color I have in my dining room. It's Called Fenland Green. I got the sample from a paint store in Utah. I love it, it changes through out the day and is ever so awesome.

PS Love your decor style. You have a whole lotta FABULOUS-NESS going on in your house.

I think it looks good the way it is...but maybe a nice fancy mirror hanging above and some bright flowers in a simple yet cool vase would give that area little more Pizazzzzz...:)

It looks great. I like the way the plant repeats the style of the one in the picture. That's good design. Maybe you could add another layer by putting a decorative ironwork piece above the painting, or a small shelf below the painting, or just give your plant a little height by placing it on a decorative box. All of these suggestions just help to bring the whole thing together and unifies it.

Oh I always hesitate giving advice because I'm always in serious need of it myself! I think it looks nice the way it is though... maybe a runner on the table? See how JAZZY I am? lol I like the picture you hung a lot.
