Ceiling Tin Fleur de Lis

Remember THIS?:

And this:

Now it looks like this:

I bought it from Susie Harris' etsy shop, check it out!!! (She has some of the most fab TASSELS in town!)

Click** Click** Click**

Make sure to check out her blog, Bienvenue, too, it ROCKS!!!

Thanks, Susie!!!

PS: I publicly apologize to Susie for giving this lovely Fleur de Lis tin such an unpleasant home...but it is temporarily (hear that honey???) providing a little more beauty in an otherwise ugly part of my home...like you've heard me say before, it makes me smile...so for now, here it stays...the good thing about blogland is that when I move it, I can show you all where I've moved it to...and I promise it will be a great spot when that happens!

PPS: Thanks for the extra "French" gift tags, they are beautiful, Susie!!!

Isn't Susie so creative! That's a great place to put one of her creations so that it inspires you to change out the "ugly", (which by the way I would have probably already taken a screwdriver to while my hubby was at work). OOPS! My apologies to your hubby for giving you any ideas.

I love Susie's stuff! I have several of her tassels and they add so much to my rooms! The tile looks really good against the metal work...looks "french chic!" :)

Hope your week is off to a good start! ~Rhonda

I know...it almost makes me want to keep the stupid IRON WORK WALL, lol...I actually have a love/hate relationship with it...like many parts of my home... ;)

Hi again! I really do like your iron wall! I bet with white or light cream moldings in the room, it would really be gorgeous! It has neat character! We have glass blocks, instead of spindles on our stair rails. I have a love/hate relationship with them too! Sometimes they look pretty and some days I'm ready to take a sledge hammer to them myself! LOL! The family that built the house was into the very modern, mininalist look. With my antiques and love of color, it has been a challenge to slowly transform it into my tastes!

Oh, and if you get the Rock Band for your son...check out Sam's Club first, if you have one there. They have a super package deal with the drums and all! Wal-mart, which owns Sam's was one of the highest $! LOL! Go figure!

Hugs, Rhonda :)

I saw on another blog you were having trouble with your blog Go to layout then click on fons and color. On the small scroll you can click on a subject then pick a color from the right. Just click on the color and the subject will change color. To get the fonts to change scroll down click on the one you want changed. Then on the right you can go bold and larger or smaller. Right under this will be a small section of your blog. this you can scroll down to see wht you changed. When done hit SAVE. Hope this helps, .Kathy

Hi Bella, you have a beautiful name. I think what you've done with the tin looks great, it matches the color that was already there and it looks as if it were made for that spot. I also agree with what you've done with your fireplace mantle, to just focus on the area directly over the fireplace opening. Thanks for stoppin in at my place, I always welcome new friends. Deb

So glad you stopped by my blog. You mentioned Michigan. Actually, the auctions we went to were in Michigan. Near Houghton Lake. I was born and raised near the Mt. Clemens area. Lived there for about 15 years also after being married. So check on line...I betcha there are still some auctions. They are sooooo fun! Come by and visit again when you get a chance!

Bella, aren't Susie's things delightful!! I have already bought two tassels from her....at this rate I am going to have to go back to work full-time instead of part-time...lol. Love the fleur de lis and I know what you mean about love/hate in parts of your home....I have those same issues!!

Hi Bella,

Did you know the main character in Twilight is Bella? Sorry, I'm on a Twilight kick this week.

What a cute plaque from Susie. I have two of her tassels. She is very talented. I'm a huge fan of her blog. What a cute way to decorate the iron. You could carry on that idea and add more pictures with black ribbon.

I tried looking up the RMS lady but the address on my blog didn't post all the way so I couldn't. :(
I'm finally catching up a bit---your chairs look great. I like the punch of red.
Your mantel really is a long one, and choosing to decorate over just the opening is a good idea.
I struggled with my mantle decor too, but I've noticed that I like my decorations more when they're over-sized because they don't "get lost" visually. And because they're big I need less and they cover more space.

Hey Bella,
Thanks for visiting my blog!! I love the iron work, I might just hang some thing on the back of your entertainment center so you're not looking at the back of a tv. Not that you asked my opinion!! And I love the brick in your kitchen-it adds so much character!!
